Jammu, Dec, 7 : As part of observation of 'Armed Forces Flag Day' nationwide, the Sainik Welfare Board today celebrated the event which witnessed overwhelming participation of people who were assembled to reinforces their solidarity with Armed Forces. The Flag Day was inaugurated by Minister for Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings Ms Sakina Itoo.On the occasion, several dignitaries and citizens contributed to the "Armed Forces Flag Day Fund" to honour the brave and the dead for their supreme sacrifice as well as salute the valiant soldiers, sailors and airmen, both serving and veterans.
The fund collected is utilized for the number of welfare programmes for the benefit and empowerment of widows, disabled soldiers, sailors, airmen, ex-servicemen and their dependants and also for the serving personnel. |
