| "PDP workers join Young Panthers in Jammu" | | Jammu being ignored by successive governments: Manhas | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 7 : Dozens of youth workers of Peoples Democratic Party from Jammu Urban today joined Young Panthers in presence of State Senior Vice President Pushvinder Manhas here. According to a statement of the Young Panthers prominent among those joined included Roshi Kumar, Satpal, Ravi Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Parkash Kumar and Lucky Kumar. Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Manhas said that it was a good sign that the youth from Jammu were impressed by the pro Jammu policies and working of the Panthers Party and are joining the party in large numbers consistently. He claimed that Panther Party was the only party which is fighting for the people of Jammu region. Manhas alleged that Jammu was being ignored in each and every sphere by successive governments. Quoting example of recently inaugurated complex for Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Bemina (Srinagar) by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah constructed at the cost of Rs. 11 crores, he said, "This is another example of discrimination with Jammu. This Laboratory could have been constructed in Jammu instead of Srinagar as this would have been more effective in Jammu instead of Srinagar." He demanded that similar lab should be established in Jammu also for the fast clearance of cases by FSL would give imputes to the investigations and for shortening the process of delivering justice. He lambasted the NC-Congress coalition government for not talking any initiative and delaying the construction work of proposed flyovers in Jammu. Manshas said that proposed funds for the flyovers and widening of Shakuntala road is mere Rs 76.41 crores whereas that in Kashmir is Rs. 256 crores but still the people of Jammu are waiting for the start of construction work since years. Citing the example of the people from different corners of the Jammu region visiting the Jammu High Court had to face lots of hardships to reach the court at time because of the traffic hazards on Janipur High Court Road. He appealed the state government for an alternate road to High Court so that the miseries of the court going people and staff of the court come to an end. Manhas warned that soon Young Panthers will launch an agitation in support of the construction of flyovers in Jammu, Cable Car project from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu Fort and early completion of Lake project on River Tawi. |
