Jammu, Dec 7 : Congress party celebrated the victory of their candidates in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council polls for four seats by taking out rally at Hiranagar here on Thursday.
The ruling National Conference-Congress coalition swept the LC polls by winning two seats each in Jammu and Kashmir. Amid victory slogans and dancing to the beats of 'dhol', the Congress workers took out rally in main bazaar Hiranagar, which culminated at the office of Member LC, Subash Chander Gupta.
"It is peoples win. Clean sweep has cleared that the government is working for the welfare of the people at grass roots level," Gupta told reporters.
Prominent among those who present on the occasion included Prem Lal ex MLA, sarpanch, Sat Pal Choudhary, Vaishno Dutt, Vijay Tagotra, Ravi Kishore, Bharat Indu Sharma, Puran Chand, Darshan Choudhary, Chander Shekhar and Vimala Devi. |
