| Major fire leaves 60 shops gutted in Baramulla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
baramulla, Dec 10: In a ferocious fire incident in Auqaf market Baramulla almost 60 shops were gutted and property of worth crores was turned to ashes. According to locals, the fire which broke out from a shop dealing with Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders in Auqaf market near about 8:pm engulfed the whole market within no time and turned the market in to ruins. Soon after the news of fire was spread in the area, fire tenders and locals of the area hurriedly reached the spot and started the operations to put off the blaze. However locals alleged that fire tenders were not fully equipped to tackle the situation due to which fire could not be controlled in time. In the meanwhile according to Deputy commissioner Baramulla Ghulam Ahmad khaja, to provide relief to the affected people on immediate bases,a loss assessment report was given to Minister for Public works department, Javaid Ahmad Dar on his visit to the Baramulla today. |
