| EARLY TIMES REPORT kishtwar, Dec 10: Munsif Kishtwar Umesh Sharma today remanded six Burmese nationals to seven days police custody in connection with the FIR No: 14/2012 at Police Station Dachhan for violation of provisions of Passport Act. All the six Burmese, including three males, two females and one child were arrested by the Dachhan police yesterday when they were seen moving under suspicious circumstances. After registering the FIR against illegal entry into Indian Territory, Dachhan police led by Inspector Sanjay Kumar Bhagat produced all the accused identified as Abdul Joli (40 yrs) son of Altash Miyan, Haroon Nissa (24 yrs) wife of Abdul Johli, Anwara Begum (18 yrs) wife of Bashir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed son of Jalal Ahmed, Shamshu Din son of Bashir Ahmed and 11 year old Morro Jan daughter of Bashir Ahmed all residents of Pokran Burma under tight security . During Preliminary questioning, the accused confessed to have entered into Indian Territory from Bangladesh-India Border. It also come to the fore that one Zahoor Ahmed Chopan of Kiyar Dachhan 'purchased' Anwara Begum from one Noor-ul-Islam by paying an amount of Rs. 1 lakh to him and later solemnized marriage with her. Anwara was already married to Bashir Ahmed (2nd wife). Though police did not mention the name of Zahoor Ahmed Chopan in FIR, but he is still under detention and police said that in case it was proved that Zahoor Ahmed purchased Haroon Nissa from Noor-ul-Islam, he (Zahoor) too will be booked under relevant sections of law. The accused Noor-ul-Islam is said to be working as agent who with the help of some BSF officials guarding Indo-Bangla border facilitates entry of Burmese nationals into India including women and children and later sell them by in lieu of money. When contacted SSP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tuti said that the investigation was on and police have registered the FIR under Passport Act. During police custody, arrested Burmese nationals informed the police that they were residing in Narwal area of Jammu city. After arrest of these six Burmese nationals, Kishtwar police sounded alert to Jammu police where large number of Burmese nationals have started residing illegally. Meanwhile, Police is likely to send 11 years old Morri Jan to juvenile home in Jammu. It is pertinent to mention here that Narwal area of Jammu few weeks ago witnessed the terror incident after some unidentified person lobbed grenade at wine shop resulted into killing of one person and injury to five others. |
