early times report JAMMU, Dec 10: Jayesh Singh and Chandpreet Kour lifted the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the Jammu District Table Tennis Championship concluded today at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. In men's singles final, Jayesh beat Anil Dutta 3-1 (11-04, 07-11, 11-07, 11-05) while Chandpreet outplayed young Szhar Sharma in straight but close sets of 13-11, 11-09, 11-08. The youth singles title also went to Jayesh, who trounced Divyam Pandhoh in straight sets of 11-03, 11-05, 11-09. The junior boys singles final won by Sunpreet Singh, who beat Divyam Pandhoh in straight identical sets 11-09, 11-09, 11-09 while junior girls trophy was clinched by Jahnvi Pandhoh beating Shreya 11-08, 08-11, 11-09, 11-07. Earlier, the sub-junior boys' title went to Divyam Pandhoh, who beat Ritvik Gupta 3-2 (11-09, 11-06, 09-11, 09-11, 11-09). In sub-junior girls final, Jahnavi Pandhoh trounced Shreya 11-06, 07-11, 11-09, 11-08. In cadet boys singles event, Ninnad emerged winner beating Hamumant Singh 11-08, 11-09, 11-08 while Bhabya Rakwal trounced Yatiksha Tandon 11-06, 07-11, 11-09, 11-08 to win girls trophy. The veteran men's singles trophy was bagged by Ashwani Sharma, who beat Mahesh Sharma 3-2 (11-09, 11-09, 08-11, 08-11, 11-09) in the final. The finals were officiated by penal of technical officials including Satish Gupta, Narinder Singh, Meenu and Manmeet Kour. In the finals and prize distribution function, Member Legislative Council (MLC), Vijay Bakaya was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies. Working president of the J&K Table Tennis Association, V K Magoo was guest of honour.
