Jammu/Ramban, Dec 10: Continuing its drive against persons smoking in public places, Ramban Police today booked eight persons under COTPA ( Cigarette and Other Tabacco Products Act) at Gool and Dharamkund who were smoking in public places.
As per the directions issued by SP Ramban, Anil Magotra, the Gool Police today caught seven persons namely Tahir Hussain S/o Ab. Rashid; Ab Rashid S/o Gh Ali; Mohd Shafi S/o Mohd Abdullah; Mohd Yousaf S/o Gh Nabi; Mushtaq Hussain S/o Ab Rashid; Ashiq S/o Jamal Din all resident of Gool and Ab Reheam S/o Gh Rasool of Dharam who were smoking in public places and booked them u/s 4/21 COTPA.
Meanwhile Dharam-kund Police has also caught one person namely Shoket Ali S/o Abdul Aziz R/o Chachwah Sangaldan, Ramban, for smoking in public place and booked him u/s 4/21 COTPA.
All were produced before the Court of Law, and they were fined Rs. 200/- each.
