Pawar demands effective steps to tackle VAW

Jammu, Dec 27: Jammu and Kashmir Mahila Congress President Indu Pawar has brought into notice of government the recent incidents of rape and violence against women (VAW) in the state especially at Gharota and demanded effective steps immediately to tackle such crimes.
In a statement Pawar said, "In view of rising crime against women in the country, fifty percent population is unsafe and feels insecure in homes, schools, colleges, work places and even while travelling All India Mahila Congress has decided to present a memorandum to all head of states to take note of this grave situation and help women feel secure at all places."
