Jammu, Dec 27: A delegation of sarpanchs led by Shiv Dev Singh met State Congress President Prof Saifuddin Soz and State Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma at Jhajar Kotli on Wednesday evening. The delegation demanded upgradation of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Dansal to the level of Sub District Hospital (SDH) and informed Soz and Sharma that people of Dansal, spread over hilly and Kandi belt, were facing a lot of hardship due to lack of proper medi-care facilities. They added that during summer season several deaths occur due to snake bits in the kandi belt due to lack of facilities in PHC and dispensaries. "It is genuine demand of the general public of Dansal that PHC Dansal should be upgraded to the level of Sub Dist. Hospital with full facilities for treatment snake-bites and other diseases," they demanded. Prof Soz gave a patient hearing to the delegation and asked Sharma who was accompanying him to consider their demands. The Health Minister told the delegation that the government had already sanctioned two trauma hospitals for Dansal Block, one at Jhajar Kotli and anther at Manwal. He assured them that he will recommend upgradation of PHC Dansal to the level of Sub District Hospital from next year.
