| J&K Bank holds financial literacy camps | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 27: With a view to educate the rural people J&K Bank organised financial literacy camps in Shopian, Bandipora and Uri. The camps were conducted in Saidpora, Poshhama and Pinjoora, in which large number of local residents participated. During these camps, Facilitator FLCC Shopian M A Jan informed the participants about the programme of financial inclusion. He said that these programmes were aimed at educating the people about basic financial planning and the role banks are playing for improving the basic economic conditions of the people living in rural areas. Lead District Manager Shopian M Saleem Wani gave a detailed overview of the various schemes available in the Banks for rural areas. He discussed Kissan Credit Card scheme and asked the people to adopt the scheme for the overall growth of horticulture and agricultural products. He urged the participants to avail low interest loan schemes of banks under KCC, which carries a further interest subvention of 3% if the debts are repaid within a specified period of time. Many other schemes like housing loan, artisan finance and educational loan for students and its interest subsidy were also discussed. Cluster Head Shopian Javed Ahmad Bhat in his brief speech at Poshhama said that the Bank was contributing to the rural development in far off areas by opening new branches and customer service centres. On the occasion, he also distributed Kissan Credit Cards to the beneficiaries pertaining to B.U at Kapran. The participants at these camps thanked the Bank for conducting such awareness programmes. |
