| BAJ seeks severe punishment for offences against women | | | Jammu, Dec 29 (JNF): Bar Association Jammu today in a condolence meeting with its President Sr. Adv BS Salathia in chair, condoled the tragic death of the Delhi Gang rape victim. In a statement the BAJ President has urged the administration to more vigilant against those elements who are out to trample the dignity of women with such inhuman barbarism. BAJ President exhorted the Central Government and the State Govt to formulate stringent laws against the those found involved in heinous crime of rape, he further said that the time is ripe when we all should join hand to persuade the legislators and parliamentarian to formulate laws that prescribed severe punishment for every kind of offence against dignity of women in India. BAJ President stressed that offenders against women deserves no leniency and they can be dealt with strongly even under the prevalent laws. BAJ complimented Civil Society and particularly the youth of India for raising voice against the perpetrators of crime against women and urged the administration to rise to the occasions so as to ensure that the confidence is installed in the women folk to live a dignified life. BAJ expressed heart-felt sympathies with the members of the family of deceased and prays for courage to the family to bear this loss. |
