| After 22 year trial, murder accused gets lifer | | |
Jammu, Dec 29: (JNF): Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash Gupta today awarded life-imprisonment to One Jagar Mal @ Jagga S/o Dewan Chand R/o Village Khappar Tehsil RS Pura who was involved in a murder of one Chanan Singh S/o Ram Singh pn March 7, 1990 along with other three accused who were already sentenced and the accused Jagar Mal was absconding and produced in the Court on April 1, 2010. According to the police case one Kabla Ram lodged a verbal report that on March 7, 1990 Chanan Singh s/o Ram Singh was cutting Chatala Grass from his field along with his wife. Complainant heard the sound of gune fire shot, which occureed in the land of chanan Singh. Police registered a case u/s 302 RPC and after completion of investigation presented challan in the Court. The court after hearing the parties observed that there is absence of exceptional cricumsatnces and as such case in hand does not fall within the ambit of "Rarest of Rare Case, and awarded life imprisonment to the accused. |
