EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 29: The wet outfield because of overnight rain spoiled the opening day of the four-day Group-C Ranji Trophy tie between Jammu and Kashmir and Tripura at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today. Both the teams kept on waiting for the umpires signal to start the play, but all in vain. However, umpires paid two three visits to the ground and found it unfit for play and ultimately called it a day day at 3 pm, exactly after the tea time. "Umpires were of the views that the wet outfield may cause injury to the fielders. They preferred not to take any risk and decided to call it a day at 3 pm", a senior member of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) told SAN.
