JAMMU, Dec 29: Dheeraj and Chandpreet Kour today retained the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the 34th State Table Tennis Championship held under the banner of J&K Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, here. In the final, Dheeraj defeated Sandeep 3-1 (06-11, 11-09, 11-01, 11-06) while Chandpreet outplayed Szhar 3-1 (14-12, 07-11, 11-09, 11-04) to retain the women's trophy.Similarly, in Youth Boys title clash, promising Jayesh Singh lost to Shorya in a well contested game. The final lasted for full five sets with Shorya making it a 3-2 win. Shourya fought from behind after losing the opening two frames. The Result: 03-11, 04-11, 11-08, 11-09, 14-12. The junior boys trophy went to Sanpreet, who beat Divyam Pandoh 3-1 (11-04, 11-09, 09-11, 11-08 while Shreya outplayed Jahnavi Pandoh in straight easy sets (11-01, 11-05, 11-00) to claim the girls title. In sub-junior girls title clash, Jahnavi Pandoh beat Shreya 3-2 (11-08, 11-07, 07-11, 07-11, 11-09) and Divyam Pandoh trounced Asad Sharma again 3-2 (11-07, 07-11, 11-07, 07-11, 11-06) to win boys' trophy. Abhay Koul won the cadet boys singles trophy beating Ninnad 11-05, 09-11, 11-03, 11-09 while Yatiksha beat Bhabya Rakwal in straight equal sets 11-09, 11-09, 11-09. In the men's final and prize distribution function, senior vice-president of J&K Table Tennis Association and senior IAS officer, Sudhanshu Pandey was chief guest, who along with guest of honour, IGP Jammu, Dilbag Singh gave away the prizes.
