early times report Jammu, Dec 29: The workers of Shiv Sena and Dogra Front took out a candle march protest from Prade ground to City Chowk here to protest against the death of Delhi gang rape victim in Singapore. The protesters under the leadership of Ashok Gupta demanded that culprits of this heinous croms should be given death penalty. "This shameful act brings about how emotionless and powerless the government of India is. 13 days have passed but the government is still waiting for events to unfold even after the death of the girl," Gupta said. "This act has made the people of India very angry and if government does do anything in the coming few days the people will start getting more and angrier. Gupta also said that fast track courts should be made to handle such cases," he demanded. The protesters said that it was an open question to the prime Minister and Health Minister of India that "at a time when Indian media remained agog with a Pakistani women getting a lease of life after a rare surgery at Apollo Hospital in Kolkata, why 23 year old Delhi rape victim was air lifted to Singapore for advance treatment." "Treatment of a Pakistani patient in an Indian hospital is understandable but shifting of the helpless rape victim to Singapore speaks about the quality of medi-care in a country of 1.21 billion people. This is a sad story for Indian nation which boasts of infrastructure development and advances made in health sector," they questioned. "The death of a 23 year old girl should not get wasted and at least now it should be taken as a big example to frame new and strong laws," the protesters demanded.
