Leh court awards life-term to murder accused

Leh, Dec 29: The Principal District and Session Judge Leh, Sanjay Parihar, has convicted Gajinder Kumar Khatri and Parmod Budka Thoki who were accused of committing murder of two monks Lama Nawang Tsultim and Lama Stanzin Gelek who were associated with Sum Tseg Restaurant attached with Alchimonastery on the intervening night of August 3/4 2007.
Both the accused were tried for offences under Section 302, 392 RPC in FIR No. 181/2007 of Police Station Leh and found guilty. Both the accused persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 10000 each for committing offence of murder Under Section 302 RPC and further both of them sentenced to Rigorous Imprisonment for ten years and fined Rs 10000 each of the offence of robbery under section 392 RPC. The judgment was announced on Saturday.
