| Five gamblers held, huge stake money seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Dec 29: Continuing its drive against anti social activities to eradicate social evils from the society, Police arrested five gamblers during a raid at Middle School Surjan besides recovering huge stake money worth Rs, 29,050/-/- which was recovered from the spot. "Acting on a specific information conducted a raid during the intervening night of December 28/29 , 2012 at Middle School Surjan, police reports said further adding, "five gamblers identified namely as Gain Chand S/O Amar Nath R/O Village, Bitto S/O Amar Natha R/O Village Surjan, Gulzar Ahmed S/O Ghulam Rasool R/O Village Gatti, Mohd Shafi S/O Bashir Ahmed R/O Village Surjan and Akther Hussain S/O Abdul Rashid R/O Village Surjan." The raiding police team also seized playing cards and cash worth Rupee 29,050/- from the spot besides Rs 1000/- were recovered from the personal search of an accused. A complaint under relevant sections of J&K Gambling Act has been lodged in the court of law against arrested accused. |
