| Escaped from PS Domana, notorious gangster Bhoot re-arrested | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 4: Notorious gangster Vipan Gupta alias Bhoot who escaped from custody of Domana police station giving a dodge to the police personnel on September 29 has been re-arrested, a senior police officer said, adding, he was hiding somewhere in Janglote area in district Kathua. Based on information when police conducted raid at his residence he rushed from the spot and was finally overpowered at Ramgarh in district Samba. He was arrested by Domana police based on the complaint of a young girl of New Plots who lodged a report at Domana police station that she was kidnapped and raped by Vipan Bhoot of Shakti Nagar and Vikram Singh of Shiv Nagar in a house at Udheywalla. Domana police conducted raid and arrested both the accused. The girl was sent for medical examination. Sources said Vipan Bhoot took advantage of the situation when the electricity was off at police station. He moved towards police quarters and jumped down. In the process, he also hit a civilian. The escape of Bhoot was noticed immediately and police parties were sent to nab him. However, he remained untraced. After his escape Police authorities placed under suspension the Munshi of police station, Gurvinder and Sentry on duty Mohammad Altaf and registered a case against them for dereliction of duty. The inquiry was also ordered in the escape of top criminal. |
