| CM's advisors playing theater of absurdness | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 4: In a theater of absurdness, the advisors of the Chief Minister are taking on their own leaders and also opposition leadership to prove themselves as more loyal than the king. First the Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devinder Singh Rana accused Panthers Party of being a B-team of the PDP and accused its leadership of not being interested in safe-guarding the interest of Jammu by aligning itself with the Kashmir based party : PDP. Rana also engineered a split in the Panthers Party leadership in the Udhampur district but getting its one of the important leader in the NC fold.
The Political Advisor to the CM got politically overboard after Harsh Dev had a verbal duel with Omar Abduallh during a meeting of Mansar-Surinsar Development Authority, from where he had boycotted accusing Omar Adbullah of ignoring these two lakes. It was probably the first time that a CM had been snubbed publically, who (CM) had number of times said in the Assembly that while opposition leaders make allegations against the Government, but the same leaders come to his office for additional grants and often compliment him.
It was after this incident that Rana set the ball in motion in cornering Panthers Party and then made allegations against it. When, it was countered by the PP leadership, the Political Advisor accused him of leveling personal and incorrect allegations and threatened to file defamation suit.
The verbal duel didn't end there, as Harsh Dev contested the granting of Ministerial status to some people with fancy titles. Even as things had not settled down, Cong leader from Ramnagar RS Pathania had leveled serious allegations at Harsh Dev. Though he had been doing so for some time, but his timing of coming open and leveling allegations in the press conference raises many questions about his intent suggesting some thing fishy in the matter. In another scene of the theater, advisor to the CM Mubarak Gul is taking on his party person MP Ratanpuri with both leveling allegations against each other.
This politically act of advisors to the CM reflect the thinking and attitude of Government, which is hell bent to muzzle any voice of discontent, much against the norms of the Parliamentary democracy and more in mode of administration which deeply soaked in arrogance of power. |
