| HC directs SSP to constitute SIT | | Girl allegedly kidnapped by COP | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 4 (JNF): Justice Hasnain Massodi of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition filed by the father of kidnapped minor girl, directed Senior Supt of Police Jammu to withdraw the investigation from present investigating officer and entrust it to Special Investigating Team to be headed by the Deputy Supt of Police Headquarter Jammu and personally monitored the investigation so that the Girl is traced at an earliest. Court also directed the SIT that they shall make every effort to take investigation to its logical end within a month. The petitioner's case is that his minor daughter aged 17 yrs went missing on June 25, 2012, the father of girl immediately lodged missing report with the police station Akhnoor. On June 27, 2012 petitioner came to know that his daughter had been kidnapped by one Suresh Kumar constable posted on the day of occurrence at P/S Akhnoor with aid and assistance of Ashwani Kumar alias Poli and his Wife Santosh Kumari and accordingly reported the matter to P/S Akhnoor. It is alleged that SHO P/S Akhnoor avoided registering a case. The petitioner approached Judicial Magistrate with an application, on the direction passed by Judicial Magi-strate Akhnoor, SHO P/S Akhnoor registered a case u/s 363/364/34 RPC on Oct-ober 15, 2012. The grievance of the petitioner is that the investigating officer is not conducting the investigation with proper despatch and required seriousness and that no effort is being made to trace the minor daughter. The petitioner approa-ched the High Court after hearing Adv Suneel Malhotra appearing for the petitioner and Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the state, High Court directed SSP Jammu to constitute a SIT. |
