Kashmiri Pandit Sabha castigates Govt for non-fulfilment of promises

early times report
Jammu, Jan 4: A meeting of the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha was held under the chairmanship of its President K K Khosa to take stock of the present status of the various issues confronting the community.
It was noted with regret that none of the assurances given by the Chief Minister to the community in the Apex committee meeting held on April 18, 2012 and reiterated by him in the meeting held on September 18 at Srinagar had been not fufilled till date.
This is proving detrimental to the interests of the community since its most marginalised section continues to subsist at a pittance of relief amounting Rupees 41 per day. After bearing the hardships during the long summer season when the mercury soared to 46 degrees celcius the exiled community is being made to brave this harsh winter as well on this meagre amount. The sole responsibility for this pathetic situation lies on the Govt.
The Sabha appeals to the Govt to follow its Raj Dharma as stated by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, towards this minority community and refrain from trampling over its human as well as fundamental right under the constitution of India that of Right to Livelyhood without any further delay.
The Sabha demands that relief at the enhanced amount of Rupees 100 per day per person should be released at once in case the Govt wants to regain the confidence of this community. It further demands that steps should also be taken to fulfill the other assurances regarding the employment package, the temples and shrines bill and simplification of procedure for getting financial assistance for treatment of life consuming diseases.
The president who is also a member of the apex committee appeals to C M to direct the concerned to rectify the minutes of the meeting of the september meeting issued recently since no decision was ever taken to post migrant employees back to the valley forthwith after remaining away for more than two decades and it was also never decided that relief and ration to the families of thepersons employed under Prime Ministers Employment Package be stopped.
