| Lone, Taj ask engineers to meet targets by March | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 10 : The Speaker Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone asked the officers of PHE and Irrigation departments to expedite the pace of work on all Water Supply Schemes (WSS), pump stations and other allied projects under execution in Sumbal Sonawari constituency and complete the same in a stipulated time frame.
This direction was given by the Speaker, while reviewing physical and financial status of the under execution schemes under PHE and Irrigation sectors of Sonawari Constituency here on Thursday.
The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-din was also present in the meeting.
The Speaker and the Minister received project wise appraisal of the under execution projects in the Constituency. They were apprised that 14 water supply schemes (WSS) are under execution at an estimated cost of Rs.81 crore, out of which 4 schemes were commissioned this year, while the construction on the remaining projects was in full swing.
The WSSs on which the pace of work was reviewed included Milkpora Trigam, Gansthan A, Gansthan B, Dudwon Bhalla, Shilvat, Rakhi Shilvat, Gujjar Pathi and Gulshanpora Maidanpora. It was informed that WSS Kawpora Dangerpora is almost completed and will be commissioned this year.
Among others, Principal Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and FC Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Chief Engineer PHE, Kashmir, Chief Engineer Irrigation Kashmir and other officers and engineers of PHE, Irrigation and FC attended the meeting. |
