| SSP assesses security arrangements | | | early times report
Kathua, Jan 10: To assess the security arrangement ahead of Republic Day on January 26, SSP Kathua visited various markets of the district on Thursday.
Police have intensified searches and frisking in Kathua city to maintain peace. SSP Kathua conducted a meeting with the president of Gold Smith Jewelers, Jagdish Sehdev and asked for cooperation.
The SSP said the security in Kathua would be beefed to keep strong surveillance with the installation of CCTVs at various points of the district. In the meeting Jagdish Sehdev appreciated the SSP for taking effective initiatives to heighten security arrangement in Kathua.
He also highlighted the issues of burglaries and stealing of gold ornaments from the several shops with the SSP.
