| CPMG distributes blankets among Bal Ashram, Nari Niketan inmates | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 10: In a noble gesture to help the underprivileged sections of the society the Staff and officers of the office of Chief Postmaster General Jammu and Kashmir today distributed blankets among to all the inmates of Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan at R S Pura under "Sahayata" programme. This is a new initiative taken by the J&K Postal Circle under the name "Sahayata initiative". The idea of the providing blankets among the needy was floated by Chief Postmaster J&K John Samuel which was accepted whole heartedly by the staff members who contributed voluntarily for the noble cause. Chief PMG said that this initiative will encourage the people to share their resources to help the needy and underprivileged. As J&K has been experiencing extreme cold during this season under 'Sahayata' initiative blankets will be distributed to the needy through Social Welfare Department of J&K Government and through cooperative society. As a part of Sahayata initiative more than 1000 blankets will be distributed across the state, Chief PMG said. He encouraged the staff members and others to share their resources among the people who are in need. There are many institutions in the J&K State including Bal Ashram, Blind School, Old Age Home, Nari Niketan where people are in need. Post Office will focus on providing help to such institutions, as a part of its social responsibility. Shri John Samuel, said that the Sahayata Initiative will be extended to all the regions in J&K. During his visit to Bal Niketan and Nari Niketan alongwith other staff members the chief postmaster General, J&K distributed blankets among them. |
