| 3 day NLP workshop concludes at JU | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 10: A three day workshop-cum-awareness programme on Natural Language Processing (NLP) organized by the Post Graduate department of Dogri, University of Jammu concluded here on Thursday. The programme was organised in collaboration with Linguistic Data Cons-ortium for Indian Languages (LDC-IL) and Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore. Director Academic Staff College JU, Prof Archana Kesar who was the chief guest on the occasion said that it was a matter of happiness that Department of Dogri organized the workshop for the benefit of students and scholars. He also lauded the efforts of Dogri Department for working tirelessly for the promotion of the regional language. Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest, HOD Dogri Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas said that in the age of globalization, these types of workshops are the need of the hour "as it is very useful for the promotion and development of a language." He also highlighted the importance and relevance of the workshop. He hoped that the participants will definitely get benefit of this workshop as it is a job oriented. He also shared with the participants that in future, the department will organize more workshops in order to develop overall personality of scholars. Sunil Choudhary, Res-ource Person, NTM, CIIL, Mysore presented vote of thanks whereas Sapna Narania, Ph D scholar of the department conducted the proceedings of the programme. |
