| BJP protests against Mendhar killings | | Congress soft on 'barbarism' of Pak Army, must act now: Gupta | | early times report Jammu, Jan 10: Bhartiya Janata Party activists Thursday thronged streets and held protests against the "brutal and cowardice" attack of Pakistani Army on Indian soldiers in Mendhar sector on Tuesday. The BJP expressed surprise over the foreign policy of the Congress led government especially towards Pakistan and demanded that government should give befitting reply of the brutal attack. The protest, held in the city, was led by State Secretary BJP Advocate Vibodh Gupta. The activists raised anti-Pakistan slogans and also raised anti-Congress slogans for its "soft stand" towards Pakistan. Advocate Gupta termed the attack by Pakistan Army as barbaric and said that this is the example of utmost inhumanity. He demanded that international community should take notice of the same and there should be international boycott with Pakistan. Gupta said that there are reports that India's most wanted terrorist Hafiz Sayeed had lectured the Baloch regiment few days ago and the attack may be its follow up. "But Indian government has adopted soft attitude towards Pakistan which is unfortunate and will not be tolerated at any cost," he said. Terming Congress approach as soft on ceasefire violations, the BJP leader said that Pakistan has always betrayed India. "When Atal Bihari Vajpayee went to Lahore with friendship proposal, the same Army intrude in Kargil and today when India is again favouring the dialogue process, Pakistan army is coming and slaughtering Indian soldier in a cowardice manner," he said and added that the time has come to "teach Pakistan a lesson and if India remain silent, Pakistan will continue such attacks and people will not see soldiers dying on the LoC or borders." Bharat Bhushan Vaid and Yogesh Sharma said that when 9/11 attack was held on America, the same was not repeated in that land due to strong policy adopted by that country. "But in India due to soft stand of Congress, such attacks continue and time has come to act and reply now," they said. |
