Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 16: J&K PHE-ITI Trained Daily Rated Workers (DRWs) union today demanded regularization of their services and enhancement of wages. Under the leadership of state president, J&K Empl-oyees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Mohd Gafoor Dar hundreds of PHE daily rated workers were assembled outside the office of Chief Engineer PHE, B C Road and shouted slogan in support their demands. Addressing agitating workers, Dar stressed up on the PHE authorities to settle the long pending demands employees. He demanded, "Enhancement of skilled Rs 225 and semi skilled at Rs 175 per day, should be given to ITI trained workers. Regulari-zation of all daily rated workers engaged after 1994 including ITI Trained DRWs. Release of wages of DRWs working in various division of Jammu province particularly Doda, Jammu and Rajouri." He threatened that if government delays to meet the demands of DRWs, an agitation would be intensified to get rights. Tanveer Hussain, Subash Chander, Deepak Gupta, Chandan Singh, Mukhter Ahmed, Dushant Sudan and Vinod Raina among others were participated in the protest. |
