EARLY TIMES REPPORT Kathua, Jan 16: Alleging negligence by JK Housing Board and apathetic attitude of PHE department, the residents of Housing Colony Kathua held a protest demonstration against the concerned officials and local MLA and MP. Led by Dr Shashi Sharma the protestors alleged the JK Housing Board and local district administration for putting the lives of residents in a state of hardships and miserable. Protestors said that the housing colony was established in Kathua in 2002 by the JK Housing Board for which the residents of colony have already paid their dues as per desire of board in order to provide the basic amenities like water, electricity and pathways but all still is in vain. Dr Shashi Sharma and Smt Rewa Sharma said the ladies of the colony are forced to travel for long more than 2 kilometer to fetch drinking water. They said despite repeated requests to concerned including local MLA and concerned MP, nothing has been done. Kiran Wattal, MD JK Housing Board, when contacted assured Early Times that the problems of the Housing Colony Kathua would be resolved within a week.
