HC disposes of petition with directions
Notification for members of Panchayati Adalat Challenged

Jammu, Jan 16 (JNF): In a petition filed Payar Singh, Keemat Lal & Ghasita Ram of Marh Block Tehsil & District Jammu challenging the notification issued by Director Rural Develo-pment Jammu along with list of members for Panch-ayati Adalat in respect of Block Marh District Jammu.
According to the petitioners that list issued by Director Rural Develop-ment Jammu were never recommended by the Sarpanch for it is out of the panel prepared and recommended by the Halqa Panchayat. More over due representation to women as well as SC and ST members have not been given as such the order impu-gned dated Dece-mber 13, 2012 issued by the Director Rural Development Jam-mu is illegal and violation of section 48 of J&K Panchayat Raj Act.
Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Hasnain Massodi today after hearing Adv MP Sharma appearing for the petitioners disposed of the petition with a direction to the respondents to finalize the list of members nominated for Panch-ayati Adalat strictly in accordance with the rules.
