| HC stays operation of SAC Robkar against Taj | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 16 (JNF): Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Hasnain Massodi today in a petition filed by Taj-Mohi-ud-Din presently Minister for Medical Education, stayed the operation of ROBKAR framed by State Accountability Commission till next date of hearing. In the petition, filed by Taj Mohi-ud-Din seeking quashment of Robkar framed by State Accountability Commission and issued notice to show cause as to why proceedings for contempt of SAC in terms of section 20 of J&K Accountability Commission Act may not be initiated against him. This direction was issued by SAC in a statement made by the Cabinet Minister Taj-Mohi-ud-Din. The SAC on noticing the said news item appearing on November 28, 2012 in local English daily referring to a statement purported to have been made by Taj Mohi-ud-Din Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, asked the Deputy Registrar Srinagar and Assistant Registrar Jammu were called for to verify the factual correctness of the said statement. Deputy Registrar Srinagar and Assistant Registrar Jammu have reported that the relevant records for month of September, 2005 available in the Commission office at Srinagar have been checked and consequent upon the checking of the said records, no matter pertaining to the subject cited above issue of forest land grabbing by Taj Mohi-ud-Din Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control was found to have been disposed off by the Commission at its Srinagar Wing in the month of September, 2005. As per directions disposal of the cases during September, 2005 were searched out and it have been found that only two cases were disposed of then Chairman Justice (rtd) RP Sethi during 2005. It is further submitted that no case regarding involvement of Taj Mohi-ud-Din, former Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control was disposed of during September, 2005 by the SAC at Jammu. |
