Students continue protests against new recruitment policy

Jammu, Jan 16: On the third consecutive day on Wednesday Young Panthers (YP) and NPSU held a protests in several colleges of Jammu with students boycotting their classes against new recruitment policy.
In a statement a spokesperson of the YP said that students of GGM Science College, SPMR College of Commerce, GDC Paloura, GDC Akh-noor, GDC Udhampur, MAM College, GDC Kath-ua and GDC Billawer boycotted their classes to protest against the injustice done to them. "The anger of students is on the hike against this job policy against which a wide agitation is going on in all colleges and schools of Jammu province," he said.
Students of GGM Science College today on third consecutive day boycotted their classes under the leadership of Vikram Singh, Davinder Singh and Ashraf. After boycotting the classes they moved towards Canal Road in a rally but were stopped by the police at the main gate of the College near Shaheedi Sthal where they held a massive protest.
Meanwhile, the students of GDC Paloura, GDC Akhnoor, MAM College, GDC Kathua, GDC Billawar, GDC Ramnagar, GDC Udhampur, ITI Jammu and Government Polytechnic College Bikram Chowk boycotted their classes under the leadership of Nitish, Sunil Mandla, Avinash Sharma, Avinash Bassan, Lucky Singh, Abhishek, Anoop, Pawan Dev, Sagar, Sonu, Rajat Choudary and Manmeet Singh Chahal respectively.
Addressing the gathering at Shaheedi Sthal Vikram Singh said the new policy is totally anti-youth and anti-student "which will be never acceptable to the students of Jammu."
He said that students of Jammu are ready for any kind of sacrifice to revoke this policy. "When ministers, MLA's and MLC's can draw Rs 80,000 to 90,000 salary per month why will be educated youth paid only Rs 3000. It is shamefully that the government is implementing the dictatorial policy and is trying to suppress the youth of Jammu and Kashmir," he alleged.
