| 'Bawa Jitto' mesmerizes audiences in Jaipur | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 24 : Internationally acclaimed Dogri play 'Bawa Jitto' written by Padamshree Prof. Ram Nath Shastri and directed by Balwant Thakur, was staged here today by Natrang Jammu at the historic Ravindra Manch, Jaipur (Rajasthan) in the National Theatre festival organised by Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Theatre being considered as literature in performance, this mind-blowing performance of the Dogri play 'Bawa Jitto' added yet another feather to the pink city of Jaipur where the global attraction Jaipur International Literature Festival kicked off today with a glittering start in presence of top world literary personalities. Natrang's Dogri play 'Bawa Jitto' popularly known as the ultimate identity to the Jammu's cultural ethos mesmerised the learned audience of Jaipur through its highly innovative direction and electrifying performance totally rooted in the soil of Dogri language and culture. Interestingly this play of Natrang brought the Dogri language and culture in the International limelight and has been staged in almost all the states of India and is being performed repeatedly on great public demand. The actors from Jammu who made all proud through their matchless acting included Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Sanjeev Gupta, Madan Rangeela, Subash Jamwal, Vijay Bhatt, Juhi Singh , Mohd. Yaseen, Uplaksh Singh Kotwal, Ankush Lakhnotra, Balwinder Singh, Ashwani Bali, Sushil Raina, Shivika Verma, Monika Khanna, Sachin Saini, Shakshi Prakash, and Shivali Rai. Their versatility in acting, overflowing artistic energy and prefect timings received standing ovation. Traditional narrative singers Girdhari Lal and Harbans Lal who have been working with Natrang since 1986 kept everyone spellbound. Even the lovers of vibratiing Rajasthani music were amazed to see the out of world Karkan style of Dogri singing. |
