| BFDC protests against hike in room tariff by SMVD | | | early times report
Jammu, Jan 24 : An emergency meeting of Bahu Fort Development Committee was called under the chairmanship of its president Kr. Rajeev Charak and spokesperson Ishant Gupta in which they strongly condemned the hike in the rents of rooms and dormitory beds by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. While Speaking Kr. Rajeev Charak Said that the Shrine board has hiked rents upto 50% which will create a hardships for the pilgrims who come to seek the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. He also said that the hiked rents are even more than the rents charged by private hotels and seems like Shrine Board is running a profitable institutions. Kr. Rajeev Charak while adding said that we can not accept that the holy place will converted into Business Institution. He appealed that Shrine Board can get back the money giving in the form of loans to the J&K State Government from 1996 to till date.
On the occasion Spokesperson Ishant Gupta also said that the hiked rents affected the pockets
of the pilgrims especially those who cant afford such rents. He said it is very difficult for the pilgrims to take shelter and having rest as they have to think 100 times before availing such facility.
Bahu Fort Developmet Committee appealed His Excellency , Narinder Nath Vohra , the Governor Of the Jammu And Kashmir State to withdraw and roll back the hiked rents for the
benefits of the Pilgrims . Other Presented were Sourabh Sethi , Raghav Mahajan , Vivek Patyal , Hardesh Khokkar , Satish
Kumar , Rahul Gupta , Amit Sharma , Rohit Salathia and others. |
