| GCW Gandhi Nagar observes national voters' day | | VMCE holds awareness rally | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 24: National Voters' Day was celebrated in GCW, Gandhi Nagarhere today. On this occasion Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College was the Chief Guest who highlighted the need and importance of using right of casting vote.All the students and staff members of the college collectively took a pledge to keep burning the torch of casting vote by raising above all the constraints of race, gender, caste, ethnicity and religion. Dr. Kiran Bakshi in her address stressed upon the need of familiarizing all the students who are new voters as they have recently crossed the age of eighteen with their rights in the present scenario. She said that Indian democracy could survive only when youngsters like our students behold the responsibility of bringing into fore front the right candidate who can whole heartedly serve the society and give identity of developed India. Meanwhile, Vimal Muni College of Education (VMCE) Ramgarh today organised awareness rally to spread the importance of vote in a democratic system. Students of the College along with staff marched a rally in the village Ramgarh carrying banners and slogans to make the people to know that vote casting is their Fundamental Right and they must vote to elect right person in a democratic system. Principal of the College Dr S D Gupta appreciated the gestures of the students and encouraged the students to convey the message for casting of the votes in their localities and the new voters should register their names for getting voter cards. Chairperson of the College Anu Gupta encouraged the students to organize such rally to awake the people for their rights in the democratic setup and do something new for the Society.
