| Bronze medal in Epee team for JU on opening day | | Inter-Varsity Fencing meet | |

JAMMU, Feb 4: University of Jammu (JU) started their journey on a positive note with boys winning a bronze medal in Epee team event on the inaugural day of the All India Inter-University Fencing Tournament at Punjabi University, Patiala in Punjab today. According to the report reaching here, the gold in Epee team event went to host Punjabi University while Dr Baba Sahib Ambedkar University bagged silver. Earlier, Sahib Gupta of PG Departments, Vir Sangram Singh Charak of MAM College and Maheshwar Sharma of New Modern College as also Anoop Jyoti of GDC Dharmari contested in Epee team event and remained third. The other team events of Sabre and Foil will start from tomorrow, followed by the individual open competition. The team is accompanied by Ajay Khartol and Varun Slathia as team coach and manager respectively. Pertinent to mention here that last year JU had won overall third position in the same competition. |
