JAMMU, Feb 6: The 2-day Dogri Conference titled 'Dogri language, challenges and opportunities', which began here on Tuesday, culminated today. On the concluding day experts read papers on various topics relating to Dogri language and literature. The paper reading session was followed by an open-house discussion and question-answer session, which witnessed extensive debate and discussion with audience showing keen interest in every issue. Mohan Singh presented a critical paper on Dogri theatre and its evolution. While presenting her paper Prof. Shashi Pathania spoke about presence and penetration of Dogri in cyber world. Dr. Nirmal Vinod in his paper highlighted the role of Dogri in the field of media. Echoing the sweeping changes that are taking place in the world of cinema, Dr. Lalit Gupta reflected the various emerging trends in the field of Dogri film media. Organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the Conference, first of its kind in recent years, has been widely hailed. Inaugurated by Governor N. N. Vohra at Women College Gandhi Nagar Auditorium here on Tuesday the conference was attended by prominent writers, poets, scholars and lovers of Dogri language from within and outside state who deliberated on issues related to Dogri language ranging from journalism, curriculum, computerization, academics, translation and theatre. The Conference was culminated with a Dogri mushaira as the concluding event in which several noted poets like Padma Sachdev, Gautum Vythit, Pritush Guleri, Piyush Guleri, Naveem Haldanavi, Om Vidyarthi, Khair Singh, and Randhir Singh Raipuria recited their kalam. |
