Leh (Ladakh), Mar 10: Committed to the preservation and promotion of Art, Culture and
Languages of the Ladakh region, J&K Cultural Academy, Leh today organise a special meeting at Academy Hall with CEC's Consultative Committee Members of Arts & Culture, LAHDC, Leh and intellectual/ Writer/ Scholar, Artists & President/ Representative of various Cultural Society of Ladakh. The aim of organising such special meeting is to discuss and prepare a road map for preservation of Art, Culture and Languages of the region. Earlier in his well come speech Tsewang Paljor, Special Officer for Culture, G1, J&K Cultural Academy Leh appreciated and thankful the gather for attending this meeting. He deeply concern on the burning issue of cultural related problem of Ladakh and he told that Cultural Academy is not established for entertainment only.
He stress upon and request all the members to discuss on the issues and request them to gave their critical views and suggestion in making the Academy more meaningful in achieving its primary objectives of preservation and promotion of Art & Culture.
He further said Academy means an educational institution so we would use it in that sense. On the occasion everyone including scholar, interlocutor, writers, poets expresses their views and discussed on the problem related to Art & Culture of the region. They worrying and discussing the related problem such as decline of Traditional Ladakhi Values, Loss of Ladakhi Cultural Heritage. The members expressing that Ladakh's culture can be broadly represented by certain well-defined streams of Knowledge, Ladakh as a prosperous, harmonious and happy society, which firmly upholds its core social and cultural values and distinctiveness while pursuing goals of economic self-reliance, and is a model of social justice and respect for universal human values. In the meeting they collectively decided to frame a committee for Art & Culture.
This committee submitted their report to the CEC, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh. The constitute committee will play a vital role further for promotion Art & Culture Ladakh.
