| BJP office in Srinagar safe, 'attack' rumour turns false | | | ET plus report Srinagar, Mar 10 : The friction between separatist camp and some organizations protesting against the former, this time focus being on Yasin Malik arrival resulted in some rumours of BJP office in Srinagar to be attacked late last night. Acting swiftly on some intelligence inputs as well, the deployment of forces was reinforced in the middle of the night. However, the office remains safe as nothing untoward happened. Soon after the arrival of Malik on Saturday from Islamabad to New Delhi , the rumour seemed for real for some time when the deployment around the office at Jawahar Nagar locality was increased to foil any such attempt from any quarter. Interestingly, BJP office is in close vicinity of Hurriyat Headquarters in the posh locality . As Yasin Malik faced protest and wrath of some organizations , which are seen as sister organizations of mainstream political party BJP, the rumour mills went agog with the information circulated even among the functionaries that party office would come under attack from the supporters of Malik or pro separatist groups , it being the soft target under such circumstances when anger and tempers ran high against the bodies the workers of which demonstrated against Yasin Malik in New Delhi. Sources said the apprehensions of the possible attack were so thick that security agencies lost no time in sending senior officials around the party office with some deployment, more what is seen in routine to prevent happening of any ugly scene that would have turned the things unpleasant in existing circumstances. Sources said it was also based on some information received from certain quarters which made authorities act swiftly. However, the office is safe and intact, sources said.
