JAMMU, Mar 10: In the wake of Rajouri tragedy for a vehicle challaned for over fifteen times still remained on roads through unholy nexus between transporters and some elements, the police taking cognizance today apprehended one person along with fake stamps of Regional Transport Officer (RTO), and some other fake documents which also were recovered from his possession. Police sources said the Police following a tip off raided the residence of a alleged person and recovered some fake official stamps of concerned traffic authority (nodal authority to deal with transport permission) from his residence in village Malikpur, Miransahib (R S Pura) Jammu. Sources said that fake official stamps of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu and Udhampur districts besides other fake documents and stamp papers, they added. "Police party led by SHO Miran Sahib Ravi Parihar and SDPO R S Pura Dewakar Singh conducted a raid and arrested him. He has been identified as Amarjeet Singh alias Dimple son of Harnam Singh, sources said further adding, "apart from fake stamps of two RTOs, police also recovered fake documents, including driving licenses, Registration Certificates. " "Some Permanent Residents Certificates, Route Permit, fake revenue stamps and Character Certificates also were recovered during the raids, sources added. "During interrogation, the accused revealed that he used to charge Rs 2,500 to 3000 for supply of per driving licence from his clients, the sources added. They further said to make his nexus functioning smoothly the accused also had possessed a fake stamp of a doctor being used by him for the issuance of physical fitness certificates to the applicants. Police sources said that the accused has been booked under section 420,467,468,471 RPC and a case stands registered against FIR NO 30/2013 in this regard. His sustained interrogation was on and more arrests are likely at hand, the sources added.
