| Chinar Power Projects Workers Union demands jobs for youth | | | Kishtwar, Mar 10: A meeting of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union District Kishtwar was held under the chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari today. In a statement a spokesperson of the Union said the meeting was attended by a large number of unemployed youths of the district wherein various demands related to the absorption of local youths in 850 MW Rattle HEP to be constructed in Drabshalla in Kishtwar was discussed at length. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman of the Union Ghulam Hussain Shah urged upon the State Government to ask the management of M/S GVK Energy Limited to engage 80 percent local un-employed youths of Kishtwar in the projects as per the MoU stands signed between the State government and M/S GVK . President of the Union Farooq Ahmed Tapal demanded that one member of each family whose land has come under the alignment of the project should be absorbed in JKPDC. Chairman of the Union Joginder Bhandari strongly criticized the management of GVK and its sub contractor L&T for engaging persons outside the state in Rattle Power Project, ignoring the local un-employed youth which has caused a brewing resentment among the youths. He demanded removal of all such engaged workers who had been appointed from outside. ited main locations and temples of the town.
