| Handloom awareness camp held at Pulwama | | |
Pulwama: Daylong awareness camp was organised by Handloom department at Town Hall Pulwama today. Joint Director Handloom presided over the camp and Joint Director Planning, Pulwama was the chief guest on the occasion. As many as 500 handloom weavers participated in the camp. The speakers made the people aware about the schemes being introduced by the department in the district and stressed upon the weavers to avail the benefits of these schemes.
It was informed on the occasion that the department is providing loan facilities to the weavers for upliftment of their socio-economic at only 2 percent interest upto Rs. One lakh and insurance schemes is also being covered under this programme.
The Joint Director Handloom stressed upon the weavers to built new cluster and motivates more and more people towards these schemes and avail the benefit of the schemes.
Scholarship cheques were also given to 21 kids of the weavers for education purpose on the occasion. |
