| 2.59 cr mandays generated under MGNREGA: Sagar | | | JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today informed the House that 2.59 crore mandays were generated in the State ending January 2013 under MGNREGA. Replying to a question by Mr. Durga Dass, the Minister said that Rs. 752.22 crore have been allocated under MGNREGA out of which Rs. 514.17 crore have been expended up to January 2013. The Minister said 7 model villages have been taken under BADP in Jammu province while as 3 were taken up in Kashmir province with an estimated cost of Rs. 68.57 crore. He said under State sector 16 villages have been taken up for development of infrastructure on the pattern of model villages. Mr. Yashpul Kundal, Mr. G. M Saroori, Mr. Harshdev Singh and Mr. Mohammad Sharief Niaz raised supplementaries on the question. 58 HEPs under execution or tendered out: Vikar Minister of State for Technical Education, Mr. Vikar Rasool today informed the House that 58 new hydroelectric power projects with capacity of 9036.68 MW are under execution or tendered out under IPP mode in the State. Replying to a question by Mr. Abdul Gani Malik, the Minister said that 24 projects with a capacity of 2270.50 MW are being allotted, 29 projects with a capacity of 2254.30 MW are tendered out for allotment, 5 projects with a capacity of 4512 MW are prioritized for which DPRs are under preparation. Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon, Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. Mohammad Sharief Niaz and Jagdish Raj Sapolia raised the supplementaries. Replying to a question by Mr. Hakim Mohammad Yaseen, the Minister said 50 ITIs and 142 Skill Development Centers are being set up under PPP mode in the State and the proposal have been submitted to Union Government for approval. Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Peer Afaq, Er. Rashid, Mr. Krishan Chander Bhagat and Mr. Harshdev Singh raised supplementaries. Rs. 147 cr worth 50 IHSDP projects sanctioned: Jora Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora today informed the House that 50 projects at a cost of Rs. 147.60 crore under IHSDP have been sanctioned for 35 towns of the State. Replying to a question by Mr. Ashok Kumar, the Minister said under the programme 6739 dwelling units have been approved for the beneficiaries, out of which 2551 dwelling units have been completed and rest are under construction at different stage. He said the State has exhausted the quota under IHSDP as per the celling fixed by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and therefore no new project for any town has been sanctioned under the scheme. He said under JNNURM, 5 projects at a cost of Rs. 162.39 crore have been sanctioned for the State which includes 3 in Jammu city and 2 in Srinagar city. Prof Gharu Ram and Peer Afaq raised the supplementaries to the question. Replying to a question by Mrs. Indu Pawar, Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir today informed the House that with the introduction of farm mechanisation in State, the impartment of training to local youth for repairing of farm machinery has become necessary and the Government will seek collaboration of Technical Education Department in it. |
