| Debate on Rural vs Urban Life held | | | RAMNAGAR: Babu Ram, a student of 8th standard was adjudged best speaker in the Debate on “Rural vs Urban Life” held in the premises of Government Girls Middle School, Kanala in Zone Kulwanta of Tehsil Ramnagar organized by the Department of Information. Second and third positions were clinched by Rekha Devi of class 8th and Shakshi Thakur of class 6th respectively. Two consolation prizes were also given to Shobha Rani and Babli Devi of class 6th . The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit. As many as 10 students of the host institution participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic. Head Master of the host school, Romal Singh who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the efforts of J&K Information Department in organizing the event of great importance in his school. The contest enabled the students to expose their talent on a common platform which would help in building self-confidence among them. He urged for organising more such programmes in educational institutions for the general awareness of youngsters. Sham Lal, Mr. Darshan Kumar and Hem Raj acted as judge in the programme while Lekha Rani conducted the proceedings of the programme. |
