JAMMU: Minister of State for Technical Education and Power, Mr. Vikar Rasool on Thursday reviewed in detail the implementation of various projects being executed under PMGSY scheme in Banihal Constituency in District Ramban. The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer, PMGSY, Banihal, , AEE, PMGSY, Ramsoo, Divisional Forest Officer, Banihal, Range Officer, Banihal, Asstt Engineer, PMGSY, Banihal and other officers of the concerned departments. The meeting was told that presently the construction work on 14 roads including one bridge taken up under PMGSY is in progress. It was also told that so far Rs.2246.52 lakh out of Rs.7812.90 lakh have been spent on the said project. The Minister was further informed that construction work of Hawagan to Bhordhar Bridge taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.130 lakh is in full swing while Rs. 78 lakh have been expended on the project so far. He was also told that work on roads including Khari Mandalvebas, Zanichal Chahal, Ukhral Maligam and Shalghari-Panchal road is near completion while the construction work of other roads is in progress and would be completed within this financial year. Meanwhile, the Minister while reviewing the progress of on-going projects under PMGSY, asked the concerned Engineers to complete Nachlana- Mahu and Mahu Mangit roads by June Ist and end of the June, 2013 respectively. He also directed for setting up of a special team comprising Revenue and PMGSY Officers along with Forest Department to furnish the details with regard to clearance of realignment portion of Banihal to Mangat. Earlier, addressing officers, the Minister stressed upon them to complete all the schemes presently under execution in Banihal Constituency within the stipulated time. He cautioned the officers that there would be no compromise on quality of work in all construction works. Rasool asked all the officers to work with dedication and re double their efforts for early completion of the projects to provide road connectivity to all the areas especially far flung and remote areas of the State. |
