ANANTNAG: Special Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, Mr. Anup Kumar Thakur today visited various places in Anantnag district where facilities have been created by the department of Fisheries, Horticulture and Agriculture under centrally sponsored schemes like Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Horticulture Mission in north east and Himalayan states. He inspected the fisheries farms established in the private sector under RKVY at village Sakhras while interacting with the beneficiaries. He was informed that these units have provided to be economically beneficial for the farmers who are earning from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 from these units. While inspecting model Walnut orchard at Ganeshpora, the Special Secretary advised that more areas should be brought under high density plantation for ensuring the upliftment of the farmers. The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone who was accompanied by the Additional Secretary gave a detailed account of various schemes being undertaken in district Anantnag of various centrally sponsored schemes in Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture and allied sectors. Mr. Anup Kumar Thakur expressed their satisfaction over the implementation of various schemes in the district. The senior officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries and allied sectors were present during the visit. |
