JPDA felicitates Sham for his contribution as Health Minister

JAMMU: The Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association (JPDA) felicitated Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma in recognition of his valuable contribution in the health sector as Health Minister at an impressive function here, last evening.
The JPDA lauded the contribution of Mr. Sham Lal Sharma for the welfare of the Pharma industry during his stint as Health Minister and described it as golden period in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. They said the steps initiated by Mr. Sharma, particularly for the Pharma industry will go a long way in further improving the healthcare facilities and maintaining transparency in the system in the State.
Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, MLC Mr. Davinder Rana, Controller Drugs & Food Control Organization, Mr. Satish Gupta were special invitees on the occasion.
Mr. Sham Lal Sharma expressed gratitude to the JPDA for the gesture and said that the Association supported his all actions and steps taken for upgradation of healthcare in the State. He said he received overwhelming support from the society, medical fraternity and other stakeholders during his tenure as Health Minister for which he will remain indebted to all. He said the State achieved the status of topper in health services in the country twice because of the best efforts of the department and endorsement by the society.
Referring to the hard steps initiated during his time for maintaining transparency and accountability in the Department, Mr. Sharma said that strictness was not to harass any particular, but was to improve the system and for the betterment of the society.
Lauding the role of Pharma industry, the Agriculture Minister said that that this important industry is contributing considerably for the economic growth of the State. He said the industry is also playing the role of bridging gaps between the people of two divisions and strengthening the communal harmony.
He urged the Pharma industry to maintain transparency in the trade as they are directly linked with the health of the people. He asked them to ensure quality drugs in the market.
Mr. Davinder Rana said that Coalition Government was aware of the problems faced by the Pharma industry and all out efforts will be made to address their all outstanding issues.
He lauded the contribution of the Pharma industry in improving the economy of the State.
President JPDA, Mr. Rakesh Gupta, General Secretary, JPDA, Mr. Rajan Gupta, several former and present officers/officials of Drugs & Food Control Organization and members of JPDA from across the State were present on the occasion.
