CS reviews development works in Ramban

RAMBAN: Chief Secretary, Mohahmmad Iqbal Khanday and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pardeep Gupta today visited district headquarter Ramban and convened a review meeting of district and sectoral officers to review the performance of various departments under annual district plan 2012-13 and other flagship programmes besides centrally sponsored schemes.
District Development Commissioner Ramban, S.V Meena made a power point presentation on the occasion and apprised that under annual district plan 2012-13 Rs. 5712.32 lakhs were released till ending March 2013 and an expenditure of Rs. 5707.99 lakh was recorded which works out to be 99.92 percent against the net availability.
While reviewing the sector wise achievements of different departments, it was revealed that 98.32 percent expenditure with respect to actual releases was made till ending March 2013 besides Animal Husbandry 96.92 percent, Sheep Husbandry 99.97 percent, Fisheries 100 percent and Horticulture 99.97 percent.
While reviewing the physical achievements made by PHE under MNP in the district it was apprised that, One village was targeted for providing drinking water supply during the annual plan 2012-13 which was achieved, while as 8 habitations were targeted for drinking water supply against which 6 habitations were provided drinking water facility benefiting 3460 souls. Besides, achievement under other schemes of PHE was also reviewed.
Under Power sector, it was revealed that 29 sub-stations, 6 sub-stations upgraded/ augmented with all resources were targeted for the year 2012-13 and was achieved till ending March 2013 besides 253 Transformers were also repaired against a target of 325.
Regarding major centrally sponsored flagship programmes in the district, it was revealed that under MGNREGA an expenditure of Rs. 2488.54 lakh has been made till ending March 2013 against net availability of Rs. 2537.67 lakh. It was also apprised that 6609 works were approved under the schemes in the district during the year 2012-13 against which 4657 works were taken –up and 3946 works were completed ending March 2013. It was also revealed that 1807 families were provided 100 days employment under the scheme and an employment of 12.03 person days were generated during the year. Under IAY it was apprised that 213 Houses were taken up for Construction in the District and till the end of March 2013, 194 Houses have been completed. Besides other major schemes were also reviewed including NRHM, BRGF, TSC, RGGVY, SSA, ICDS, PMGSY etc.
Mr. Khanday also met various deputations in Banihal and Ramban who presented number of demands and issues before CS to which he gave a patient hearing and assured them that early redressal of their genuine grievances will be made on priority .
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Pardeep Gupta, District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mr. S.V Meena, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Madhu Khullar, Director School Education Mr. G.A Qureshi, Chief Engineer R&B Mr. Tehsin Mustafa , Chief Engineer PDD Shehnaz Goni, DIG Doda – Kishtwar Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, besides other senior district and sectoral officers were also present.
