| Bhalla dedicates Rs. 41 lakh community hall to Shanker Nagar people | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 29: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla on Monday dedicated a multipurpose community hall to the people of Shanker Nagar Channi Rama. The Hall has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 41 lakh. After inaugurating the community hall, the Minister said that State Government is making all out efforts to provide all infrastructure facilities to the people adding that in this regard, Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to meet the developmental needs of the people. Mr. Bhalla said that community hall would facilitate the people particularly poor lot of the Shanker Nagar and its adjoining areas to organize their social and religious functions on minimum charges. He said that the hall has been constructed in 4000 sq feet area and includes basement with the facilities of kitchen and toilet block. The Minister also informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 1 crore for construction of another double storey multipurpose community hall at Malik Market in Narwal, adding that the hall is nearing completion. He said on the demand of inhabitants of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, a similar hall would be construction in the area on availability of the funds. Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the ongoing projects within stipulated time frame. Mr. Bhalla said peace is the vital key for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country, adding that people’s cooperation is must to make the State a prosperous one. The Minister said fulfilling people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner. Mr. Bhalla said Government is fully aware of people’s hardship and is making all out efforts to mitigate them on priority basis. He stressed upon the officers to bring in more accountability and transparency in timely utilization of funds available under various Centrally and State sponsored schemes for better infrastructural development. The Minister asked the officers to reach out to the people and mitigate their hardships on priority basis, without any delay. He warned the officers against any laxity with regard to timely redressal of grievances of the peopleadding any complaint in this regard would invite strict action against the delinquent officials. |
