kathua, Apr 29: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma called upon the panchayat representatives to be instrumental in providing ample benefits of schemes sponsored by the central and state governments and play decisive role in the pace of development in rural areas. He said this while addressing a public grievance redressal camp at village Morian of tehsil Billawar. Dr Sharma said that by empowering panchyats the government has shown intent to reach out at grass root to address problems of the people. He said the elected panchs and sarpanches must project the genuine demands of their area. Earlier deputations from Dhannu Parole, Najote, Boparn, Ghar-Malti, Kohag, Thakur- Dawar, Baskari, Somai, Tarfal and Drakar made their representations and sought immediate redressal from the minster. Boparn deputation demanded Aangadwadi centre, road connectivity from Kohag to Billawar via Ghar and Malti, blacktopping of 5km Mandli-Kohag road, funds for immediate completion of WSS Kohag. Morian deputation demanded funds for Tarfal, Drakar, Morian water supply schemes. handpumps at Baskari, Somai, SC mohalla, Tarfal near SC Mohalla, Ghar, Tarmoli and near Panchayat Ghar Kohag, two transformers at upper Morian and 25 electric polls, Health Sub. Centre for Morian and Thakur Dawar. Other demands put forth by the panchs and srapanchs included boundary wall for Government Middle School Morian and Kough, new primary school in Panchayat Kough, Dhar Tunal, Tarfal, Drakar and SC Mohalla Kough and upgradtion of Girl Middle School Kough into High School under RMSA. Lanes and drains for Morian, Drakar, and Tarfal, opening of JK Bank branch at Kohag, inclusion of Kohag Panchayat under RBA. Dr Manohar Lal Sharma gave patient hearing to the demands and problems highlighted during the grievance camp and assured them that all their genuine demands will be addressed on priority basis. The Minister said Government is keen to capacitate the health infrastructure in Billawar for which the proposal of 100 beds in Sub District Hospital Billawar and a new Government Nursing College is under active consideration of Union Health Ministry. Regarding up gradation of Middle School Dhanu Parole and Najote the Minister said the issues will be taken up on priority. He announced Rs 1 Lac for the leveling of middle school ground Morian. He assured that a branch of cooperative bank will be opened shortly at Kohag. He also disclosed that the work of two bridges on Najote will commence soon. He said 90 percent work of Water Supply Scheme Kohag is completed and passed instructions to the PHE department to complete the work speedily. Dr Manohar Lal Sharma also gave away cheques among the beneficiaries of Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan District and Tehsil level officers, Panchs and Sapanchs and large number of people were present on the occasion. |
