| DDC assesses quake damage at Gool, Banihal | | | RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Shyam Vinod Meena, convened meetings of district, sectoral and tehsil officers at Gool and Banihal to assess the damage caused by earthquake in the district, here on Thursday.
Chief Education officer, XEN, PDD, XEN PWD, XEN PHE, ACD, Tehsildars and officers of different departments attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the officers apprised the DDC of latest situation and informed that there was no major damage or injuries reported from the district. However, the quake hit Gool, Banihal and Ramban causing minor cracks to various structures including schools, government buildings and private houses.
Meena directed the tehsil administration to gear-up their men and machinery in the quake hit areas of the district to ensure immediate relief to the affected. He asked the officers of all departments to collect proper information about the actual damages and losses from field staff and submit to him within shortest possible times.
The DDC directed the officers to ensure that the people get requisite ration, power and water supply.
Earlier, he also inspected Sub District Hospital Gool and directed the BMO to provide healthcare facilities to female patients under NRHM and JSSY as per guidelines and ensure the attendance of doctors and other paramedical staff in all the Health Centers of the area. He also expressed concern over extremely low rate of institutional deliveries in Gool block. |
